I would like to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the PMI Lahore Chapter. Our mission is to help create a vibrant local community of project management practitioners as part of the larger global PMI family. We have four main objectives:
1. Enhancing Skills – In the last sixteen years, our chapter has conducted over 194 training batches for PMP as well as several for other PMI Certifications such as ACP, RMP, CAPM and PBA. Our training programs are supplemented with follow up support through study groups, mentoring and assistance in completing applications. Each year over 100 members achieve PMP certification in Lahore.
2. Maintaining Credentials – PMI Certification holders require PDUs to retain their certification status. The chapter organizes seminars, symposiums and annual conferences to help certifications holders earn valuable PDUs. These events are open to all project management practitioners to promote modern project management practices.
3. Academic-Industry Linkage – The chapter provides the ideal conduit for linking universities with industry through events held in universities for disseminating latest project management research to leading practitioners in the industry.
4. Project Management for Everyone – Project management is no longer confined to large and/or complex projects. Projects are the means for achieving change be it in social sector, finance, technology, industry or government. PMI is promoting the wider adoption of project management through the PMI Educational Foundation. Our chapter volunteers are actively using the PMIEF content to bring free project management training to new sectors of the economy.
The lifeblood of any organization are its people – in our case it is the efforts of PMI Members who volunteer in various roles. We are always looking for volunteers who are passionate for promoting professional project management through the PMI platform.
I hope that we will see you soon in one of our events.
