Summary

At least 50% of project failures can be attributed to behavior of human resource systems. Project performance is deeply impacted by Emotional Intelligence (EI) especially in terms of achieving planned objectives and designed outcomes. Therefore, tremendous potential exists for emotions to play with the fate of projects. EI competencies can be applied to challenging projects to enable turnarounds. Project failure in a resource-starved country like Pakistan is of serious concern. The speaker will elaborate EI and its relationship with successful project implementation and also present results from a research to index EI of project managers, project staff and other stakeholders and determine how EI influences performance of projects.
