Project Management Best Practice

Sarah H. Nuttall, PE, PMP, with 15 yr experience in management of engineering, construction, and community projects, has led both locally and internationally, in chemical, power generation and distribution, oil and gas processing, utilities, government, telecommunications and land development sectors; is currently working as Project Engineering Manager for Mustang Engineers and Constructors, on a refinery revamp project. Ms Nuttall works closely with her clients staff utilizing her expertise in Engineering, Project Management, Financial and Contract Management to design solutions and deliver the desired results.
She is also founder of Pakistan Adoption Group, an international body dedicated to facilitating adoption of the needy children.

Summary

Two-part presentation compiling the best practices in Project Management, presented at the PMI North America Congress, 2006, in Seattle, Washington, 3 days of training condensed into 2 hours of best practices!
Part 1 - Project Showcase section of the program will allow our members to present their projects to the audience, primarily sharing the challenges they faced during the project and how they were dealt with using project management principles and techniques. They will also share the lessons learned during the project and will answer any questions asked by the members.

Part 2 - PMI Lahore Chapter has been lately involved in some R&D projects, in collaboration with PITB, regarding development and implementation of open source project management tools for managing the ever increasing complexity of mega infrastructure projects. The goal is to invest into open source tools so that all organizations can utilize them for effective and efficient planning of their projects. These tools also allow Earned Value based monitoring of the project progress. Two tools will be presented under this topic.
