Speaker: Engineer Abdul Munnan Butt

The importance of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) cannot be undermined. It is necessary for everyone. Any hazardous incident can have devastating effect on people, assets, environment and reputation of the business. In order to protect businesses it is necessary to manage HSE in a manner that it minimizes the risk of impending disasters. To give us an overview of this aspect of HSE, PMI Lahore chapter has arranged a seminar on PROJECT HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE) MANAGEMENT.

Engineer Abdul Munnan is a BSc in Chemical Engineering from UET, Lahore. He graduated in 2001. He is a recipient of “young engineering leaders excellence award 2011” a National level competition held by engineering review at NED University Karachi. Engineer Munnan is also a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 and 14001 Environmental Management System, OHSAS 18001, Occupational Health and Safety Management System. He has attended various courses including Process Plant Safety and Environment; Behavior based safety management, Six sigma, Emotional Intelligence and many others.
Engineer Munnan is also a certified Competent Communicator from Toastmasters International. Engineer Munnan has extensive experience in the field of HSE and has worked in various projects both in Pakistan and the Middle East. Presently he is working as Manager HSE, EPC Projects with Descon Integrated Projects Ltd, which is an EPC company of the Descon Group dealing in projects in Pakistan and the Middle East. Previously Engineer Munnan has worked with FMC, a US based company as process lead for Middle East and Africa, and with Dai-Nippon Inks & Chemicals a Japanese based company as production engineer and HSE head in the joint venture plant in Lahore. His specialization is Risk Profiling in Process Safety and has carried out safety reviews of a number of process plants both in Pakistan and the Middle East.
